These drivers seem to be the cause of alot of trouble for my pc. Ever since I installed thses my screen flashes black after the tray icons load and occasionally I'll get Generic Host Process for Win 32 Services errors shortly afterwards. If I don't get that, then I get a BSOD that says:

Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the top message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adapters.

Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components,........

I've tried uninstalling them and using Driver cleaner to rid myself of them but it doesn't seem to do the trick. Has anybody else here had this problem? Is it repairable?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Ok quick thoughts :

Check to be sure you have adequate disk space.
have you checked for that?

Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing
Did you ?? you can disable these options via the BIOS. maybe they are interfering with something.

also are you using Catalyst CCC or the regular one ?

do you have .net Framework installed ?

Yes, I double checked to make sure BIOS shadowing was disabled and I made sure to install .net framework 1.1 before installing the drivers as well. I have tried using both the one with the CCC and the one without and the results have been unfortunately the same. The HD is new so there's plenty of room on it as well. I'm at a bit of a loss.

Remove the new driver and go back to the old one. If your problems still persist you might do some testing to see if your system can pass diagnostics. Try running memtest overnight, prime95 blend test for a few hours, etc.. Just see what happens then. If it fails either of those two tests I bet your problem is more than a screwed up driver.

I've tried to uninstall the 5.4 and 5.5 and reinstall the old one but I unfortunately keep getting these errors. I'll run P95 and memtest to see what happens. But I'm not overclocked right now, and it was running fine before updating the drivers so I'm not sure what the problem is.

Thanks.

Well if worse comes to worse you might have to rebuild your machine (reinstall Windows/drivers/apps) and see what happens. That would tell you beyond any doubt whether this is/was a software issue or not.
