I'm calling Shens.
Ronin is on top of his game. He wouldn't have left such an image on his server where anyone could get to it unless it was just to mess with you.
Hopefully I'm wrong though. That's an impressive clock.
720 CORE!!! maybe that matches the 150W thinging?? But still single slot.
that looks kinda fake, I expected the core speed to be around 500 when launch, 720 is wayyy out of the loop. But if an Eng sample could clock that high, man the retail board will be sooooo smoking fasssttt, it'll eat a 6800U SLI alive.
btw, nice find SHM64, that's tight--also lmk when you want to get rid of your P4C processors.
ok guys i give .. im the one with the g70!! ... not ronin..
ok j/k

He may have just clicked on auto detect and it came up with that core speed so he took an image of it ?
I very much doubt 700Mhz on TSMC's 110nm process with >250 million transistors.
Regards
Andy
My 6600GT using autodetect reaches 560MHz and I can manually push it up to 590-600MHz before artifacts appear.
However, I don't see likely a 250 million transistors core reaching 700Mhz on the same process.

I think it should be noted. That just because you see a screenshot like that in the driver control panel doesnt mean anything.

but you didn't click 'apply' button like in 7800 screenshot :afro:

It's 3D mode so this is irrelevant of course as it will still be sitting at 300MHz or whatever when in 2d when the screenprint was taken.
I wonder why he did take that snapshot though ? Maybe to show autodetect is screwy ?

Thats doable too. I just didnt think about it. All you gotta do is disable internal clock test.

Well, but the card executes a quick test when you click the "apply" button. If it fails, the old frequencies are retained
It's much easier, actually... Take a screenshot before and after you move the slides and copy the grayed apply icon from the first shot. :D
No exotic cooling solutions needed ;)

 :D
I do not see the 7800 coming with a 700 core clock.
But my money is on Mike or Ronin. ;)

If the G70 is indeed clocked at 700+ I'll be need a new bottle of viagra.

700 MHZ with 24 pipes is going to be 2x the speed.
G70 ain't just a NV40 with 24 pixel pipes, i'm sure it has more goodies to speed things up. :)
I'm gonna pre-order one as soon as they'll let me. :D
If you notice, the Test Changes button is greyed out on the 720 screenshot. It has already been tested and applied.

Lookie what I did in photoshop in 5 minutes or less...
The screenshot hardly proves anything.

Is it really news that screenshots can be easily altered by even a partially trained monkey who's had little sleep and just lost his job? :D
