I just saw this at W2S:

The FPS/RTS hybrid, Savage (http://www.s2games.com/savage/index.php?page=savageindex), from S2Games, isnít checking the CD Keys now, which can mean you can now play the game for free. The full version of the game can be downloaded (http://downloads.s2games.com/online_orders/savage_windows.zip) directly from S2Games (257MB).

What does that mean?

Is someone sleeping at that company?

Are they going out of business or something?

The developers are nolonger supporting the game, They turned off the CD-Key check and you can freely download and play the game. It was posted on Hardforum awhile back.

No, the game is not free. You still have to pay for it

For some reason the developpers have not been able to add CD-Key authentication to the online servers but this doesn't mean that the game is now freeware.

Well if you are going to get into this, realize it is online only.

Also realize that there is a patch required to play this.
