Ok, I've been made an offer for a system and I need your opinions. Since it concerns SLI, I thought I'd put it in here. I've inquired about the following USED products, and I've been given a price of $2200 USD.

Athlon 64 FX55
2 XFX 6800GTs
Asus A8N-SLI-Deluxe Motherboard
Antec Neopower 480W Modular PSU

I most certainly won't buy it for $2200, I'll negotiate it down to $2000 or not get it at all, after all, it's too much money to spend out of the blue, he might as well give me a better deal. He's offering a Lian-Li V1200B case, I might get him to give me that as well for $2200. What do you guys think? I'm pretty sceptical about it, with the new cards coming up and the possibility of a PCIe top range only.

Honestly, thats a lot of money and not that great of a deal. Brand new you are looking at around $850 for the CPU, $900 for 2 graphics cards, $175 for the board, $75 for the PSU... that comes out to be right around $2000, so no, its not a good offer for used stuff.

Your system is probably not much slower most of the time anyway. Id let this one go if i were you.

6800 GT PCI-E cards new go for even less than $450 each. More like closer to $400. I would definitely avoid this deal.
