It's not until the very high levels where the warlock starts becoming powerful, much like the warrior.

It's not until the 40s and above that the warlock really starts to come into his own. Until then, I recommend speccing yourself completely in affliction. Affliction is hands down the best path for survivability for any PvE situation and later to some extent mass PvP. when you recieve your voidwalker(which if I recall was at lvl 10), you can solo pretty much any quest with ease. enjoy your lock and good luck. :D

Oh do I hate warlocks. They kick my 60 priest's butt in pvp. Other than paladins, it's the only class I don't like fighting one-on-one.

I tried the warlock, but didn't stick with it. My main is a 45 undead mage on Shadowsong.

You have trouble with Paladins as a priest? Say it with me. "Mana Burn for the Win"

Dispel their seals, And mana burn them. They will not live long without mana. And they do no damage without their seals.

Imho, playing a warlock, atleast when it comes to pve, is incredibly easy after l10.

And chainfearing makes an elite several levels above your own a piece of cake(don't do it in an instance though, that's _not_ popular).

Dont make a warlock if ure after the nukes..go for mages..prob the easy caster class to learn/master..and they are more wanted than rogues..

The problem with warlock is the fact that..after u hit 60..and u wanna pvp...u gotta go farm shards...skills like shadowburn/soulfire needs shards..if u look arround alot of l60 players use rank 1 drain soul...cause no one wants to use the higher ranks because its a complete waste of mana..u only use drain soul when u want a shard..not as a dot.

Problems with warlocks is that a mage is balancing are class..and that mage decides what warlocks should get/not get..very annoying.

Death Coil on a 10 min CD...very annoying.
Shadowburn talent needs a shard
Soul Fire needs a shard
End game pets like Infernal and Doomguard are just there for "oooooooo....aaaaaa" look..they really suck otherwise.
Pets get lost while moving...this is very frustrating.
End talents like Dark Pact/Soul Link/Conflag are very underpowered for a end tree spell...they are just a ok spell...pretty weak for a end tree spell.
No Escape spells..only one we can use is CoEx...and u have to go deep into aff tree to get it...which is pretty lame..as u have to put about 6 points into it to make it usefull..just get a engineer and use a decombulator ray...cheap to make.

Yes warlocks got loving in the last patches...but the problem was...no one asked for those changes..apart from the infernal / pet pathing (this should have been fixed last year ffs)..the rest were not things what warlocks wanted...the problems were not addressed...siphon life was nice with the instant cast...

Warlocks PvE is pretty good...imp with improve firebolt (1 point) makes a machine gun :)...pretty low downtime as warlocks are more efficient in mana than mages..mages are like a nuke that has a long reload time..so mages are much better in pvp because of there high upfront dmg..but suck if they are resisted.

Dont play a warlock if u dont like to grind after 60..get frustrated from bieng ganked alot in contested areas...

look at how many escape plans a mage has...they got
Frost nova
Sheep(can make it instant..)
Blink
Rank 1 Frost bolt is 1 sec cast with imp frost bolt..no one can escape from a mage because of the chill effects...and u can spam rank1 (1sec cast time) to catch upto a target :).

Warlocks get CoEx and that is deep in aff tree...have to have the right pet out in order to be sucessfull. Instant summon pet is on a 15 min cd...

Once u hit 50-51+..you wont like lvling warlocks..just simply frustrating sometimes...but they are a cool class..just need blizz to address real issues than make changes to things that are not needed.

I am still waiting to know how Improve Drain Soul is suppose to work..tool tip dosen't say it has to be the dmg killing blow for the inc spirit...been waiting for this word since day 1 of wow...they simply wont address real issues.

When a paladin can heal completely with only a few mana points, it's rather frustrating. :thumbdwn:

Anyway, I did kill a 60 paladin and 60 rogue the other day all by myself. I am a shadow priest, so I hit silence just as the poor paladin started to cast a healing spell, then mind blasted FTW. :D I can't say this was a huge achievement because the two I killed were gold farmers who are always at Tyr's Hand on the Spinebreaker server. Gold farmers seldom pose much of a pvp problem. :)

Yes they can use LoH once. They have 1 live really. Because if you take down there mana completely. They never get it back. If you're consistent in keeping them out of mana. They simply cant out dps you're healing and dont have the ability to survive your damage dealing.
