I used make to install both the kernel (4191) and GLX files, modified the XF86config file accordingly but only find that the X server is very, very slow and hang after a few clicks.
I've read the postings recommended by volts. I ran glxinfo (the only way I can run this command is via Alt F2 as it took a long time to reach the terminal menu via the Start button).
I checked the XFree log file, no error shown. I am still using the original RH 8 kernal. Will updating the kernal help?
In the original RH 8 driver, I can't run tux and chromium as they hang when I launched them. Other programs were running well.
Any solution?
Thnx
Alan
