Dave Baumann regarding this 3dmark score: Remember the limitations of 3DMark05...

until i see those results confirmed on 3dmarks website, i'm not believeing it. Just dosen't make sense for a 24 pipe card to only hit 7800 future marks.

the limitation of vertex shaders??

ya it is. So what's up with the HDTV support?? Anyone could explain that?? Is it not supported in NV40??

Could you just show me the details about the limitation right here?

the hints are that the real benefit of the G70 will be more apparent at higher resolutions than 1024x768 or with AA/AF applied - at standard 3dmark2005 settings the card is vertex-fetch (rather than the more normal pixel-shader or bandwidth) limited.. possibly expect a pretty high mark for SLI (more than 2x)?

.. or so I hope!

So what's happening? Retailers are ignoring the almighty NDA and they are selling their stuff as fast as they can ?

So much for the "available at launch" :p

It seems to me than NVidia has gone from paperlaunch (5800U, 6800U) directly to "available before it's launched" :D

gdphk, how well does the card run Doom3 or BF2 at those speeds?
I'm really not interested on 3DMXX, because i can't play it.

Those screens mean nothing. Anyone can wack the slider all the way up and take a screengrab. This was already proved in another thread.

Why would anyone fake a credible overclock such as that one?

I guess that might be true for some people :) we will see if that kind of overclock is possible or not.
