What are the best gaming speakers on the market today? I was looking at the Creative Labs Inspire 5.1 5300.
Hands down, the top two are the Logitech Z-680's and teh Kilpsch ProMedia 5.1's....
These two systems are always the speakers of choice for those looking for the very best...Granted, they can't compete with thousand-dolar home theater setups...but then again, they cost less than half as much and still manage to give them a run for their money!

The Logitech's the Pelly mentioned are quite amazing; my friend uses them on his X-Box, and the 5.1 sounds fantastic for the price. It is by far the best value of all the speakers out today, although the Klipsch are quality as well.

I'm getting nforce2 soon anyway...Pelly you think it's a good deal?
Do you know if they are loud enough ? I was thinkin of getting S4 MidiLand 8200 v2.0

If i didnt buy the z-560's a year ago i would have bought the Z-680's when they came out. My Mom doesnt like me buying anything more than $50. So i always buy hardware thats going inside the comp.
Back to the topic. I would definitely recommend the 680's they just look sweet. although if i were u i would wait for the price to go down.:)

my bro has the spearkers logitech z-340 i want and i tried em not much difference at all compared to his nforcec audio so i guess it doesnt matter wat kind of sound u have unless u want 3d sound :)
Santa just brought me a set of Logitech Z-680's ( I would have rather had my rent paid for ) :p
Regardless, they're a gift from someone close and I am really thankful for such a kick-ass gift...
I've been using it with the 5.1 C-Media on my KT4 Ultra as well as with the Chaintech nForce2 I'm reviewing...
Overall, these speakers sound fantastic...a great piece of hardware ( especially the trick looking control module ). I saw that CompUSA has them for $350...keep an eye out for sales...
My only complaint with these speakers is the "hiss' at low volumes....at higher volumes ( ie: gaming or music ) you cannot hear any noise at all....just when they're "idle"....
Regardless, these are excellent speakers and a great investment for the long-haul...

What about Creative Gigaworks S700\S750? Everything I have seen says that they are the best. Plus they have tweeters (for highs). No Logitechs do.
Some people do prefer the sounds of the gigaworks. I have to tell you guys i don't have high end speakers at all, but they actually sound very nice. I guess for 2.1's they are somewhat mid to high end. I have the altec lansing mx-5021's. I use Grado 60's for most of my gaming anyway. But the 5021's have extremely nice sound reproduction.

Having owned the z680's for a yr, then the z5500 for a couple weeks and now the Gigaworks S700\S750 for almost two months, the gigaworks are currently the best pc speakers out there when it comes to pure sq. The z5500's offer the best bang for your buck since they also include a hw digital decoder all for under $300.
also on a side note:
For the love of CHICKEN please do not reopen a 2yr old thread again, thanks! (xmasgrin)

z-5300 is best buy (I'll get this next week).
z-5500 - if you want to spend more money.
Gigaworks are simply the best, but I don't think that you need this kind of power.

Have to agree the z-5300 are very good speakers. You can find them in the $130 range. I had them for more then six months and I'm totally happy with them.

My vote is for the Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1 speakers as the best gaming speakers you can buy. I have a set and I think they sound better than any of the Logitech speakers.
Just my 2 cents.
