Short answer: You cannot burn DVD's with those computers.

You may make VCD's that will play in dvd players, tho they will be only about an hour long and pretty crappy quality. If you would like i can explain some more but im kinda lazy

if you want to make real DVDs, then you need a DVD burner. it's as simple as that.

aka, it is impossible to replicate the quality of a DVD without using the same DVD format and then play it on a DVD player.

and if you want to burn a vcd, on to a cdr or cdrw, to play in a home dvd player, your dvd player needs to be able to read writable disc. if you dvd player is 1-2 year old, good chance it can't.

And VCD's can't be very long, I think less than 30 minutes considering a CD has only a fraction of a DVD's storage capacity.

EDIT
As mentioned above...heh. :D

30 mins? where did you get that? VCDs don't exactly get DVD video resolution. you can get much more than 30 mins on one cd.
