View Full Version : Christians sacrifice children

This is a slam on Christians, here is what I am looking at.
They are brought into the capital to be offered up in rituals by fundamentalist Christian sects, according to a shocking report by Scotland Yard.
Very nice. I am considered a "funamentalis" by todays liberal standard of being a Christian. Now I am in the same catagory as satanists. You can call these people what you want but they are not Christians. I don't care if they say they believe in Jesus. There is nothing in the bible about sacrificing children. Yet this article does a lumping of Christians with these evil people.

They are anything BUT Christians. The Bible says that there shall be many that come in Jesus' name, but they won't be from Him. The Bible also teaches us that even the devil believe in Jesus, and tremble.
I am not surprised when someone tell me that they believe in Jesus, or that they are a Christian...I more or less look at the fruits more than what they say.

Exactly. So many times I've seen "so called" Christians behave worst than wild animals. It absolutly infuriates me, and though I'm sad to say it, just because someone claims they are a "Christian" dosen't mean they are a good person.

Even people who really do believe and are real christians and blah blah blah can be bad people. Morality is about your actions, not your beliefs.

What will you crazy Christians do next?
That reporter deserves a good face-beating.

Wasn't Abraham told to sacrifice his son? Then at the last minute God says "only joking, I was just testing you"... or something.
These people believe that they are christians even if you don't. So the question is what is a "real" christian compared to a "fake" one? It seems that whenever a christian does something good he's a "real" christian, and whenever christians do something bad they are labelled as "not real christians".
What is "good" and "bad" varies across history depending on popular cultural values. These days we say any christian who burns "witches" is not a real christian, though a few hundred years ago it was considered the normal decent christian thing to do.
Its a group pride thing. Its like when an American does something bad and you say "well, he's not a REAL American if he did that".
You find psychos and sickos in Christianity just like you do any large group of people.

Christianity is not about "being in a group" it is about how you live your life.
Christianity is not about "being in a group" it is about how you live your life.
then why bother with churches?

It doesn't matter, you are still a group of people who call yourselves Christians. You are by definition a group.

I am not a christian becaue I go to church. I am a Christina because of what I believe in, and becasue of how those beliefs effect my life. You've got to have both to be a Christian. You can have one without the other. The faith dosen't exist without the works, and the works don't exist without the faith.
People who claim to be Chrisitans, but don't have the works to back it up are not Christians IMHO. They are false teachers, and in the Bible it speaks about them and says they have a place reserved in hell.
It's not just believeing. It's believeing and ACCEPTING the message, and allowing it to transform you life. As DiscipleDOC said, even the demons believe in Jesus, but they are still going to hell.

This is the exact opposite of what I've been taught and what every Christian I know says.

You're right. If you were a Catholic of old, actions would matter. But salvation comes through the grace of God and accepting Jesus as your savior. Actions are all very well and good, but they don't necessarily define what makes a Christian a Christian.

Most "Christians" would be suprised what they find if they actually took the time to read the Bible.
19You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.
20You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless[a]? 21Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,"[b] and he was called God's friend. 24You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.
25In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? 26As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

Hmm...that seems to contradict what Romans 4:1-5 says:
What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
I'm confused.
Define a deed.
What if I spent all my time helping people, but secretly hating every one of them. does hate count as a negative deed? If so doesn't wishing people well count as a deed in itself, even if you don't do anything.
In Islam you get 1 point for thinking happy thoughts (like sawing an infidels head off), and 10 points for actually doing it (actually sawing an infidels head off). When you die the points are added up and you can cash in your balance for virgins etc.
Hmm...that seems to contradict what Romans 4:1-5 says:

A contradiction in the Bible? surely not ...

This was exactly what was taught to me when I went to church. They taught me "Just say 'Jesus, I believe in you' and you will be saved." While I do believe that, it is somewhat misleading. You can't just say "I believe" and then be like "Yeeeehaw! I can do what I want now! Theft, Rape, here I come!!!!!shift+one" (and yes, I have seen someone who is a thief and a rapist call himself Christian all the while he was doing those acts). If you truly believe in the message of Jesus, your actions *will* reflect that. I'm not saying you have to be perfect, or live your life to a certain standard, because God knows I'm not perfect. But the point is becasue what Jesus did for me I *want* to do right, and that is going to influence my behavior.
Heh heh...let's not get started down that road. You and I both know where it leads. ;)
I object to you implying a tone of sarcasm in my post.
