I was wondering what a normal operating temperature was for this chip?

My idle is 40c and my max is 50c (at 100% CPU usage over a 30 minute period). I'm using an XP-120 with a panaflow fan to cool it and with a max operating temp of 63c, I'm wondering if this is normal.

I'm running the chip at stock speed, I just figured that XP-120 would really cool it off more then my temp monitor is showing. I am using the hardware monitor from the BIOS and everest to watch my temps since everest does GPU temp as well as CPU temp and it's the closest monitoring software I can find that matches my BIOS hardware monitor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

uhh, either there is something off with your or my bios, but on stock cooling i idle around 36-40C (depending if my window is open) and load is generally around 55-57C

that seems quite high for the XP-120 with it, maybe bad contact?

My idle is somewhat higher because my ambient temperature but since I'm running within your temps, then I feel a little better. I ran a 100% CPU load for an hour and I never got over 50c.

I might try a 200MHz OC and see what my temps are with it.

Those temps sound just fine to me. I run 37C idle/49C load at stock, and 42C idle/57C load at my overclock.

I don't mean to "HI-JACK" this guys thread, but how did you get your FX55 @ 2.92 on air? What exactly are your settings if you dont mind me asking? Im @ 2.87GHz running nice and COOL (28-30c idle, 37-39c loaded) Im using an XP90 with a 90mm tornado.
