what do you guys think about Apple's commercials?
"i cant use Pc's cause they always crash, my Mac doesnt"
"there's more things i could do on my mac than on my PC"
there's more i just couldnt remember them.
I like Macs but wont buy one till it can do what my PC does. They also cost so damn much. All that money just to draw a pretty picture. Heck my son is happy when i buy him crayons. They are a lot cheaper than Macs.;)

"I bought a camera and couldn't use it on my PC, so I hopped on the internet to download drivers because I'm too blind to see the install disc in the packaging."
**** her and anyone that looks like her.

I use a Mac because I'm too stupid and lazy to read the ******* user's manual.
Granted, the Mac does have some nice features. But until I can upgrade a Mac like I can my PC and play the same number and variety of games and have it consistently cost less than $1000 for said upgrades I don't think I'll be making the switch anytime in the forseeable future.
The Mac does have its place but not in my possession.
I think they border on false advertising. They get away with it by passing those actors off as just regular people expressing their own opinions. They also don't target a specific PC manufacturer. If their comments were directed at someone specific (e.g. Dell) they would have been sued by now.
These lame commercials make it less likely for me to switch. Don't even get me started on Mac zealots behavior. http://sbp777.homestead.com/files/bash.gif

I hate that Apple apparently think you can't edit video on a PC...
...and I find it amusing that they think that an iMac performs generally better than a modern PC...

I am a radio DJ and used my old PC to create disks for use on my show. One too many “buffer underruns” drove me to consider switching
Well here is a hint moron, get a decent CD burner:rolleyes:
I work in the Emergency Department of a university teaching hospital in Palo Alto, CA. I live nearby with one of the doctors I work with. We have no choice but to use Windows at work, and let me tell you — Windows IS work
No, windows is a operating system, good god this person actually works at saving peoples lives and he cant tell the difference between his job and a computer:rolleyes:
and drag and drop really works…
he had to spend $3000 to figure that out:rolleyes:
If I ever had a dog, I don’t think it possible for to have loved it as much as I love my iPod
Tells you something about these Imac people;) :D
I named it “Fido” and even taped its name on its back. I take him everywhere I go: class, coffee shops, trips…everywhere. Fido is beautiful and receives many praises and jealous looks.
how f**ked up of a life must this person have that he acts this way over a "computer"

The people on this forum who have named their computer are a scant minority. I sure don't do that myself because I think it's retarded. I also don't refer to my system as "him" or "her" and certainly don't refer to it as "beautiful."

because if you think about it, these commercials posit these people as SMARTER consumers, for knowing less about computers.
Such as the girl who "saved Xmas" by using a Mac that can import pictures without any extra commands. yawn.
clever way to equivocate an obviously uninitiated PC user who can't even install driver updates as the norm. When in reality, it's mostly Mac users who's machines do "everything" automatically that have no idea what to do come crunch time, when their machines DON"T like what's going on.
Macs - stable, yes. pretty, sure they are. Performance vs. Price? not quite...an online friend of mine was shopping for her Mac the same time i was shopping for my next PC.
we got basically the same system (minus a SCSI drive) and she paid $2200 more than i did. she also got a set of CRAPPY speakers (in matched IMac translucent blue!! goody!!), one of those irritating Mac round one button mice, and only a 17" mon, while i had enough to buy a 19".
PC's are workhorses, Macs (consumer level) are for people looking for "lifestyle accessories."
They look great and their fast, just like Italian sportscars. I'd look into buying one if i knew i wouldn't have to live in a cardboard box to afford it. maybe.

The point I'm trying to make is that all this talk about how Mac users are fanatics is stupid. There are people in the PC community that are just as bad, if not worse, and that's not even touching on some of the more hardcore Linux crowd.

Today when Windows XP is very common on home computers I think it is quite old to say that PC crach all the time.
It is one thing for those who tweak and OC all the time. But another for the casual user who dosent use his/her computer for games.
My GFs parrents bought a new top of the line computer one year ago. I never craches. The older computer they have, bought some 4 years ago crached all the time ... it was an Ibm p2 400 with really crappy components. No wonder it sucked ...

Those are real people in the ads, not actors. The stories they are telling are the stories that the people in the ads sent to Apple. I don't know if their still is, but there used to be a link on the Apple site where you could send your story in. If they liked it then they would fly you out to Cali and make a commercial with you.

I just submitted this :)
Well I got my PC and it was just, like, confusing ya know? I unpacked it and there was all these wires. I plugged the Pee ess too thing into my power outlet and smoke started coming out of my mouse. I had to return it and get a new one. I spoke with tech support and they were really snotty by saying "all you have to do is connect the orange wire to the orange connector, and the purple to the purple. Like I am a computer genius or something to figure that out??
So... when I booted up the PC i put a dent in it. Later I learnt that "booting up" means to switch it on! Why couldn't they just call it that? I then put the CD in for my favorite Mac software and it said that I am doing illegal operations! They have no business monitoring what sort of pictures I download!
Things got even worse when I tried to hook up my scanner. It had a hue ess bee wire thing and my PC didn't have one. The guy I got the PC from said it was brand new when he got it 5 years ago. How can it not have a hue ess bee? The skilled 16 year old computar expert at Walmart said I could install a hue ess bee card so I got one. He said that I need to install the driver CD too. I opened up my PC and installed the driver CD in one of the slots on the motherboard thingy, then I put the hue ess bee card in the CD ROM drive (I had to cut it with a saw to make it fit). Now my PC doesn't "boot" at all.
One day a friend recommended a Mac to me... actually what he said was "guys like you should just get a mac"... best 3500 dollars I ever spent! My friend also recommends a lobotomy, whatever that is. He says it will be an improvement.
