Over here, it's no bit cheaper than a normal 6800GT, and since it only has 128MB of slower memory, that makes it quite a bad buy.

Have no experience with the ASUS 6800gt 128Mb card. However it has an excellent bios, that, with minor mods, enables my Leadtek A400le to run stable at 425/940.

And obviously my comment about the ASUS bios isn't to be taken as meaning that any ASUS 6800gt could also be operated at the same levels I achieve, since max capabilities of any card are mainly down to the overall quality and rating of all its on board components. Which is why all cards, even when from same manufacturer, must be considered different !

Woah! That would leave a 6800GT in the dust! You saved a lot of money getting that 6800le. I should have done that. :D

Apart from achieving very good overclocks, I was extra lucky because my leadtek a400le could also be unlocked from 8x1,4vp to 16x1,6vp.

The card can actually overclock ok to 440/950, but I currently run it at 425/940 as an insurance against the unknown. Also fitted a Arctic NV5 cooler to give better control of temps, and make it run much quieter.

Originally cost me 140, so certainly money well spent !

Yes and as long as you're happy with it, that's all that matters.
