View Full Version : Win XP Desktop Icons Lined Up Wrong
Has anyone had this problem before? It's been happening for several weeks now and I can fix it, but it's a pain in the arse to do every time I reboot. They won't stay like they are suppose to, you know, spaced correctly. Whether they are Large or Small, they go like this after I reboot. Ugh! I can just have the Recycle Bin icon, I guess, but I want these 3. Any suggestions on why they won't stay spaced or how to fix it?

Try bumping up the horizontal and vertical icon spacing in the advanced section of the appearance tab in the display properties.
Cool, thanks. I didn't know that was in there or at least forgot about it. Do you know what the default spacing is? Mine is set at 24 each right now. I'll mess with it. Thanks again, hope it works.
EDIT: Nevermind! The default appears to be 43 for each. Mine was set at 24 each. I don't know how that got changed. Anyways, appears to have fixed the problem, but the real test will be the reboot. Thanks, again!

No problem, I'm not sure if the default is 43 or not I have mine set to 41.
I had mine set to 75 for a second. It actually looked kinda cool with just those 3 icons! LOL Anyways, sitting at 43 now. *keeps fingers crossed*
UPDATE: Woohoo! I'm in business! Thanks for that suggestion, man, you made my day! I have it set now at 24/43 and that looks like the normal settings. :thumbsup:
