There are official screens in OXM, and there is no way the game will look like that.

I dunno unreal 3.0 can do better then that heh. Personally i'd have to say they are real. But they're just 'perfect situation' screenshots.

Look at the brick building on the left of the pic... Look at the black stains and marks on the bricks. If it were a texture you'll probably recognize some repetitive patterns, unless the programmers were crazy and decided to include a super-duper hi res textures.

Given that consoles are struggling to fit everything inside a limited amount of RAM (512MB, in case of Xbox 360) it seems unlikely that they went for such high resolution textures.

EDIT: It seems it has been taken from the game :wtf:

It's real? My BS-o-meter was ready to go off the charts.

I'm speechless.

The devs confirmed that the screen is indeed taken IN GAME :)

Yeah, that's definitly in game right there. Pictures can say a thousand words, but some video can convence me more!!!! :D

It's because the textures don't need to repeat due to the fact that their just photo-edited textures of a real place as overheat just showed you.

it's probably several high res textures on the model scene.

i could take that picture apart how it lacks geometry. things i see nice are the nice textures (but a little blurry), good shadow's and nice lighting.

Looks good but I would rather see it in motion, One thing I learned from GT4 is that still shots don't represent gameplay quality. GT4 isn't that far behind in photo-mode in comparison.

I hope the gameplay is more tweaked to my liking, I personally didn't like PGR2 much.

It's not how much you have, it's what you do with it. Just look at PGR2 and what it managed to churn out on a 64 megabyte machine (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/driving/projectgothamracing2/screens.html?page=217). Now imagine all of the texture detail in that shot increased by 10 fold. It's not that hard to see how much big of a leap the graphics can make.

And really, 512mb is almost overkill for that kind of a game. The geometry and car data probably only takes up around 100 megs of room, that leaves a LOT of room for texture data.
