I've never read or watched Lord of the Rings, I might go see it.:D
You have to wait until Saturday? Bummer! My office is taking a "long lunch" to go "team-building" to see it tomorrow! :D
I must say, I'm stoked. And I'm wildly impressed with Massive, the software they used to create those huge epic battles...
Cheers,

I get to see it tomorrow at 3pm! There's 11 showings tomorrow afternoon in our cinema so I'm pretty much guaranteed to get into one of those. Yay! God bless college for giving me Wednesdays off :D
I'm not normally this enthusiastic. About anything. Heh.

As much as I wanted to say the first one was UTTER CRAP, I couldn't. As a movie, it was actually pretty decent. Nothing spectacular, but it was good. Now the books... oh dear God, those are another story.
If you think that Tolkien is the pinnacle of 20th century fiction, please, remove yourself from the gene pool. Although you probably don't have to--there's that little chance of you reproducing to begin with. ;)

I thought it was one of the better book-to-movie adaptations I've seen.
Originally I was planning on seeing the midnight show of The Two Towers, but my parents weren't too keen about me being up until 3 AM+ on a school night. So I'll probably end up seeing it either tomorrow after school or this weekend.

I'm excited, and I'll be seeing it tomorrow!
Too bad the theaters close around here after 11 :/ That really upsets me, too! THe latest they show ANYTHING is 9:45pm-end of the movie... and I don't get off work until 1:00am Thursday morning!!!!
AHHHHHH!!!
it's wednesday... I may just sleep a couple of hours and try to catch an EARLY showing if at all possible... *cartwheel* :)
As for the comment about Tolkein being the greatest writer, I agree... he's not. I still think that goes to Robert Jordan for the greatest fantasy writer... with Terry Goodkind following up a close first and a half place.

To this, I agree. And to all those who DON'T agree, I will smite you with the Sword of Truth! :D

Over here we have a drive in theater, one of the last in the country. We have another theater in town, and on the military base we have a free theater. Heh, you just show up, with your ID card and you get to watch the movie for free!:D Only bad thing about it is that they close the bathrooms during the movie, once I had to go bad and the marine at the counter wouldn't open it up. I swear, I was about to jump the counter and beat the living crap out of him and take the key, or at least go into a corner of the dark theater room and do my business there and leave it for them to find.:p I held it tho.:D ;)

Just got back from the midnight screening of the Two Towers.
One can moan about how the movie's story diverges from the book and all, but I really didn't mind. In fact, I found it interesting how Peter Jackson modified the story in an attempt to appeal to movie-goers.
I enjoyed the movie, though I did find it long in the tooth (3 hours will do that to ya). However, would I have enojyed the movie as much as I did were it not for having read the books and picking up on the littlest details? I think not.
The Fellowship was much more interesting to those new to the tale than this one will be. At least from what I believe...
Let me know what you guys think...
Should we put a "possible spoilers" label on this thread? Cuz I REALLY don't wanna know anything about the movie until I watch it! (well aside from what I know in the books lol)
