Ahh first hand experience of the majority working for the minority. Today we had a little meeting, well the management and people who I have never seen turned up to meet a executive of the company who we are working for. After many minutes of brown nosing they all got a nice pat on the back from themselves

Well done to IT, even though the system is constantly crashing

Well done to hastings(the other insurance firm) even though the conversion sheets are constantly wrong

Well done to the management and supervisors even though every single day they find something else wrong that should have been picked up before we started.

But guess who didnt get a mention? US the people who are earning the damn money for these people, even though we have overcome all these problems and in 4 days....yes 4 days have worked so hard we are already a week ahead of target.

God damn this is B$

the art of management, turning good news into bad news... if something goes wrong its the managers fault, if something goes right they get recognition for it, just the way it goes... ive seen managers go down in a tonne of flames for progects gone wrong, and ive seen them rise like stars for stuff their team did, cos to the rest of the company they're the teams public face

With some managers it doesn't work that way. If something goes right they take all the credit. If something goes wrong, they point a finger at a subordinate and shift the blame on him.

I would call it more the art of B$ ;)

Perhaps they should do some of the word if they want 0.0001% of the recognition they got today. None of our team seemed rather pleased about it and I wonder why:rolleyes:

Just goes to show that the old adage "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" is simply not true. In my experiance, the squeaky wheel simply gets replaced (I've been "replaced" a number of times...you can tell!). :D :p
