Hey everyone, I'm in the process of picking out a new monitor to buy, and I'm pretty set on getting an LCD monitor. I'm using an old Compaq monitor (and i mean old as in like from mid 90's) and I definitely need to upgrade soon. So I think I want to go for a 17", as that's about the price range that I can afford. I'm looking to spend around $250 max on it. I know some ppl here say that LCD's suck for gaming, but I'm not that hardcore of a pc gamer, so I'm willing to give up a lil for an LCD. Anyway, the monitor I had in mind is an acer:

That's my first choice as of right now. Any thoughts? I think it's a pretty good choice because it has an 8ms response time and also has DVI, so I think it's a pretty fair price for what seems to be a quality monitor. Any input would be greatly appreciated

he said 250$

You won't get a good lcd for 250$ and by "good" i mean like sony, samsung, dell, or apple.

Not to threadjack or anything, but I'll pose the same question, through with a potential budget of up to $1200 (Realistically, $700).

I've looked a few different brands - most important aspect is minimum size of 17 viewable, 1600x1200 native resolution.

Sorry, I just skimmed over your post and failed to notice your price limit.

$250 is a little tight, but take a look at these:

That Acer monitor was pretty damn nice for the price anyway. Hope you enjoy it. At 8ms it'll be great for gaming, regardless of what people have told you. :D
