My 3dmark 05 score is only 9870 under default setting. And when I see the details of my system in 3dmark, it says the vag core clock is 275 which is the default clock for 2d mode. But after I change to 3d performance in the control panel, which has a 460 core clock, it still shows 275 in 3dmark and score is still low.

I use BFG 7800 gtx oc SLI and amd 64 x2 4400+@2.6g
Asus nf4 sli premium

UpdateL Problem solved. I selected performance 3d mode. Then i turn off my computer and changed the pcie slots of the two card. When I run 3dmark05 again, I got 12000. I'm not sure if this is because I changed the slots or you should use performance 3d mode in stead of default in display properties

Well, the Futuremark reporting clocks is all messed up.. I wouldn't worry about that. Which drivers are you using? That score is a little low I think for SLI.

I use 77.72 WHQL downloaded from nvidia site. And I think the score should be around 11000

Hi, Are the bios versions of your 7800's the same. Ignore the bios sticker on the cards, but check in the display properties. I believe you will need to install each one separately to see the bios version.

You probably already know that BFG has an update tool to make the bios .25. So i think if your cards each have a different bios, or if they are not the .25 version, consider updating them. You can email BFG for the updater.

It is .25 in the display properties. But I'm not sure about the second one. And if they are different, why i can still use sli?

Have you tried killing all background apps then running the test? Most of my scores are taken after a fresh windows install.

I hope you'll get a better score than 11,000 with two 7800's...my 2 6800 ultras get a little better than 11,000 in 3dmark05.

I'm not sure, but do check both bios and make sure they are the same.

Did you get around this problem? I have the same issue. 2 7800GTX's scoring a low 9800...

It would be strange for your score to change (especially for it to go up) from adjusting the perfomance options in the NV control panel. Nvidia drivers come with a premade 3dmark profiles that should be used automatically whenever you run 3dmark's. The premade profiles are of the lowest quality possible with all optimizations turned on, for benchmarking purposes. Perhaps something is wrong with your driver install.
I would recommend drivercleaner and then to install 78.03. These new drivers have been working flawlessly on my box, and the shimmering is mostly fixed in that release.

I upgraded to the latest beta driver and I still get the same result. I can't break a 9800 3dmark05.... CRAZY.

Strange question, but do you have v sync enabled in the nVidia control panel?

Does CPU factor in to 3dmark05 score or is that final score just the score of the video card hardware?

Yeah, some of the tests are CPU only tests.

Agreed, I get well over 10k with 2 6800 ultras too, and that's with everything bog standard.
