SWEET! I hope we get a new game mode in a patch :bounce:

And 128 player games would be totaly insane... I doubt any server could run that smoothly.

oh what the heck, with a good connection, a dual or Quad Opteron setup with a good amount of RAM (lets say 16gb for fun), you could prolly get away with 128 players hehe. (ofcource in the realworld, there is the issue called "cost" to worry about)
Client side it might be cruel at times tho.

Ya 128 people on a server (at least for now in the near future) just isnt a do-able thing, but sounds like madness. :)

As far as the that other game mode though, I would love to see them implemented.

I dunno... personally I like the smaller 32 player servers.. rather than the 64.

then you, my good man, are mad!.. MAD!
You got all that hardware rendering only 32 guys, when it COULD be rendering 64 of them? with more map area and more viechles!
its like.. running games at 800x600 with SLI!! hehe :D

Let's get Venturi to start a server for a 128 player game!
Surely his rig could handle it!
His sig
Dual Core Opteron 275's, SLI quadro 4400fx 512MB, 1.45 terabytes, 16GB RAM, (4)400GB SATA drives, (1) 15,000rpm 146GB scsi, Ent Srv 2003 64-bit/32bit...& plenty of blue lights.

Then why has novalogic been running servers capable of handling up to 150 players at one time, nothing new and they've been doing it for more than a year. I suggest you look at the Joint Op's series before saying it isn't do-able.

I agree, the larger games are far to chaotic to be truly enjoyable. It would be really cool if both teams were well organized into squads and functioning in a strategic manner but we know that isn't the case on public servers. ;)

Yea, with a large amount of players, its very difficult to keep track of teammates, and if you are commander, it is impossible. Also it seems like as soon as your respawn, your dead because of so many snipers, etc. Its just chaos.

So very true jAKUp, I hate spawning on Squad Leader only to be mauled down seconds later, or being in a close firefight with an enemy and dying only to be revived by a medic who forgot to clear the area first.

I don't like dying.
