OK, I'm going to be building a new computer soon with these specs:

AMD X2 4400+
DFI Lanparty UT nF4 SLI-DR
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) Platinum Memory
2 BFG 7800GTX's

and I was wondering about power supplies. I want to overclock this processor like no other since I'm not going with the FX series and I just built a friend a computer with a FX-55 and he really wanted to light up his case and insisted on this PSU (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817148012) . After building the computer I was actually kinda pleased with the power supply. All the cords had sleeves on them already, u could change the led colors which easily lit up the whole computer and made it puuuurty :p and the thing was only $75. Now, I know a good power supply is important for overclocking, so suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanx

The only downside I can see to the PSU you listed above, is that it does not support Active PFC. Which is increased power output IIRC.

These are my picks for top powersupplies

1. PC Power & Cooling 510 Deluxe
2. OCZ Powerstream
3. Forton, Targen or Antec

PC Power & Cooling 510 Deluxe is the king of powersupplies with 34A on the +12v rail, an a rail fluctuation of about 2%. (Very important for overclocking) You gotta pay for it though, these babies go for at least $200.

I have gone through so many powersupplies I know a good powersupply is important. Especially in my case with my dual 7800GTX's and my water pump both being powered from the powersupply.

Neither of these have Active PFC either, but I just know that they are extremely solid powersupplies.

How about this one for $135?

They also have a 420w one for $89.99

I would definetely recommend one of those :)
