Pentium 53? If you use flawed roman numerals that is :p

Hopefully an uber video card to compete with nV and ATI :D :D :D

I dunno, they seem to be doing everything wrong with CPU's, maybe they should give graphics cards a try ;)

VI IV = 6 and 4 in roman numbers

64 would be LXIV

Intel moving to platforms, there are specualtions of it being desktop platform brand aka. centrino.

Who cares, there's nothing good coming out of intel anyway. How long have they been stuck in the 3ghz range, at least amd is making progress.

Yeah this first surfaced when Intel caved and went x86-64-bit. The other possibility is the dual-core stuff, ie. it's two Pentia (V = penta ~= five) stuck together with two pieces of sticky tape (which is what their DC solution is).

Hehe.. how about Pentium 5 dual core?
V//V = 5//5..

if they would do dual core wasn't better do V/\V ?? it looks much better lol

if they want use it for a 64 bit cpu then wasn't better just write V/ \V at least seems like the 2 // do not deal with the first V lik ein their mark..

if they want do anything related to a cpu isn't better they ask AMD how build a nice one? :D :D :D

i dont think its got to do anything with the desktop PC's.
maybe a new logo for MAC comps? maybe for some other platform etc etc..

well.. whatever it is, that logo looks stupid..
I thought it was something from the 80s or something when I first saw it.

Pentium 5 => Five Five => V V

I don't want a new logo or name I want a new arquitecture

Actually that logo looks like it's from the Pentium I era.

i bet if there was a play test with a AMD and Intel rig around the same specs with no indication of what rig was which 99% of you would not be able to tell the difference unless some benchmark was ran. ;)

i bet my wallet could tell the difference though! ;)

I suppose you are referring to the Apple logo. But then again, perhaps you're not.

It looks to me like Intel wants to represent a dual-core Pentium 5 processor with that logo. V//V - with "V" and "V" representing their Pentium 5 processor and "//" representing two cores. That's my take on it.

Thats what im thinking. Either that or its a new Apple processor.

Pass the joint on when you're finished, I want some of what you're smoking :smoking2: Intel will not be making a custom processor for Apple. I don't know why it's so hard for people to accept.
