Hi guys need some advice
Thinking of upgrading for a 7800gtx (with a none sli motherboard as can't see the point tbh)
Current specs
Asus A8v deluxe
XP3700 (socket 939)
2GB DDR400 (which I can only use at 333 on my current board!)
Asus 6800GE (12pipes 6 vertex) ran for a year flawlessly at 420/1200
Soundblaster Audigy 2zs
Logitech Z5300 surround sound
and a load of other stuff
anyway I have about £500-£600 to play with I want the
XFX GeForce 7800GTX Extreme Edition but its at £470!!
(can anyone find this card cheaper or advise on a better card or near equivilant that costs a considerable amount less?)
Im looking for reccomendation on a new mainboard. I can spend upto £120 on it. I have no need for sli (its a socket 939 remember as well) I want to be able to run my memory at its full speed! too. I need at least 4 regular PCI slots and at least 2 serial ata ports (need to run in raid 0)
One last question If I plug my current array into the new board will they still have all the current data and is it a simple case of entering the setup utility and selecting create array. Will my fasttrack drivers bugger windows loading?
And finally can anyone think of anything I have missed??
Phew!!!...
