thanks, to be honest I didn't think we'd get it. I'm only 30 miles from London centre so i expect some of the events to be held out here in Essex. Should be great.

Hardly, the plans were terrible. The spirit was there, but it wasn't even certain if you could build the main stadium planned. It was a two horse race, and London won all but one round (including of course the last round)

I would have loved to see it in NY because when you think about it we have everything to pull it off but your right, our bid was filled with such politics and rich snobs in Manhattan opposed to everything that pretty much our only chance to win was paying off the IOC. I thought for sure Paris would beat you guys though being it was mostly there heard.

No I'm actually Australian, but lived in London for four years and loved it, met and married a Frenchie there. Moved to France and have sinced divorced the Frenchie, but like to improve my French before I move back to London :)

btw, I'm now with a Russian, who would also like to live in London :D
