My sig hasn't been updated to reflect my upgrade yet. none of these are with ocing. it's the same cpu and motherboard (listed in sig). I'm not putting in the kingston back in to get another screenshot to show the ram timimng for it. Yes I know there's an upgrade to 2GB thread but this is from 4 Dimms to 2 Dimms I thought it needed it's own thread. I haven't tried any games yet but I can already see a speed increase with apps loading. nobody talking about 2T vs 1T or 4 dimms vs 2 dimms, so here's the difference.

anyways before today I have been running kingston hyper X pc3200 4 dimms worth at cas 2.5/2T at pc3200 and I ran only the sandra benchmark yesterday.

int Buff'd 4649 m/s
float Buff'd 4694 m/s

I recieved my Corsair Twinx2048-3200c2pt I left it at cas 2.5 but I'm using 1T instead of 2T

in sandra I got

int Buff'd 5622 m/s
float Buff'd 5576 m/s

I noticed hardly a difference between 1T and 2T. I think I scored like 60 points higher on Mark05 at 1T as opposed to 2T. So I dont get why everyone says it makes such a huge impact.

I had to back off my meory timings to 2.5-3-3-8 with four sticks and 2T, so there was even more of an impact. Depends on the application. Gaming doesn't seem to make much difference. However, a friend of mine that encodes movies from DVD said that lowering the latency would shaves off minutes. That is worth while.

I think we may see a more significant difference in the next gen of games, given that more memory will be shared between vid cards and the system. I wonder if 1T vs. 2T would affect TurboCache...

Plus, 1T is cool. :afro: Heh.

A friend of mine says he notices the biggest difference in the time it takes to process large video files. Every tweak has its strong suit...
