View Full Version : Geforce4 ti 4600 problem

 I've just bought a GeForce 4 TI 4600 to replace my GeForce 3 Ti 500 (the fan has failed, otherwise the card is fine). I had expected the swap to be straight forwards.

When I replaced the card, and tried to install the new drivers, they failed near the end saying that there is an incorrect parameter. I had removed all existing drivers first.

I wonder whether my computer is just too old for the card. My computer is a PII 400 MHZ with a 100MHz buss clock.

I've no idea whether it is AGP x1 or x 2, but the Geforce 3 worked fine.

I tried the card in a PIII 450 MHz computer and it didn't respond properly there either, but at least the drivers installed.

is that an 8x card? i know towards the end of the Geforce 4 line they made an 8x Revision 4600. 8x cards can work fine with AGP 4x, but 2x or below and I believe there are voltage issues. I dont think they work in properly at 2 or below AGP speeds.

You could try using Driver-cleaner from http://www.driverheaven.net and clean the machine of your previous drivers and try to install again.

Thats all i can really say :(
