Figureheads from the Christian, Muslim and Jewish faiths each read out parts of the statement.
"It is an evil that cannot be justified and that we utterly condemn and reject," said Sheikh Dr Zaki Badawi, of the Council of Mosques and Imams.
Good! Now we need more action instead of words. This is a good start but I have seen this before. We need more good Imams to stand up and consistEntly condem these acts.
Now the fact that one or two may stand up is very different than a movement to eliminate the terrorists in their communities.

I seem to remember the catholic church washed its hands of WW2 though...
(of course the exception was JP II who condemed the cold war), my point being, big stand ups from the religous comminity aren't common.

The only detraction from what is a rather wonderful statement and event, is that this Council can only speak for the Muslims of the UK...who are mostly Westernized.
Not saying it is a bad thing at all, rather, it is a wonderful thing. I just hope it spreads to the Middle East.

After the bombing many londoners walked through the east end to get home. The east end is full of mosques and is britains largest msulim community. Here they were offered rest, clothes, food and drinks... and asked to talk to the children about what had happened to them in the name of "false jihad".

What does the Catholic church have to do with terrorism TODAY!? WHAT!? WHAT DOES IT HAVE TO DO WITH TODAY!? ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION!
IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TODAY! If you want to go on a crusade about the Catholic curch during WWII then go ahead but you will be alone because it is the past and NO ONE CARES. IT IS A DODGE TO THE ISSUE of islamic terrorism.
I am really freking sick and tire of you guys bring up something way in the past that has nothing to do with today. I am not even catholic so why bring it up to me?

Yes, that is a good gesture on the part of these people who extended a helping hand to their countrymen, following this terrorist attack...

It's definitely good progress. But now some of these Imams and other clerics actually in the Middle East need to start saying things like this.

If yesterday had no bearing on today, I could murder anyone and get away with it because it was in the past. Thats a false argument. Caps lock doesn't make it any less weak. Especially since just yesterday we in Britain celebrated the great effort our fathers and grandfathers made to keeping us free.
My point was that major figures within a religion are not known for standing up when their life my be threatened, using history as an example. This contrasted with how much pure bile you pour on anyone or anything muslim for not kissing your ass at 3pm every day for ever having a terrorist exist within their gene pool makes an interesting point...

I believe their motto is

How many of the muslim followers do you think this has afeected? Seriously, he's more or less doing the same that Arafat did when he was alive...saying one thing in one arena, and saying another to another type of crowd. This is more or less just politics at it's best...but I'll be the first to apologize if it stops the attacks.

The bearing it has on terrorism is irrelevant. That was not the comparison I was making so it is not a fair one to judge it on. Shifting the goal posts to prove your own point does not discredit mine. Religious figure heads don't always do what you want them to, it is not therefore fair to brandish an entire religion and its followers evil or even bad.

IF YOU DON'T STOP SCREWING WITH EACH OTHER, I'LL BUST CAPS IN ALL OF YOUR ASSES! And that won't be the only thing that busts in someone's ass!
As for you, Joltcola, I'll have you know that capital letters automatically make what you say more important, increases the overall value of your post 40%, and increases your penis size by 10% every time... there are some people who need that sort of help. :bleh:
And finally, just because I can never get enough of obnoxious forum tags...

Responding to questions about the terrorist attack on London, a Muslim scholar in the British capital asserted Islam makes no distinction between civilians and military targets.
"The term 'civilians' does not exist in Islamic religious law," said Hani Al-Siba'i, head of the Al-Maqreze Centre for Historical Studies in London.
Al-Siba'i, in an interview with the Arab news channel al-Jazeera, elaborated, "There is no such term as 'civilians' in the modern Western sense. People are either of Dar Al-Harb or not."
Dar Al-Harb refers to the Muslim concept of the world being divided into two "houses," the House of Islam and the remaining territories, the House of War, or Dar Al-Harb.
Al-Siba'i speculated that a Western nation could have been responsible for the attack, but he acknowledged it could have been carried out by Osama bin Laden's terrorist organization, according to a transcript provided by the Middle East Media Research Institute, or MEMRI.
"If al-Qaida indeed carried out this act, it is a great victory for it," he said. "It rubbed the noses of the world's eight most powerful countries in the mud."

That guy is ****ing moron. He's proud of taking cheapshots at our nations. It's amazing to look at this "scholar" making pathetic attempts at making terrorists look like victims.
"He told them: We did not attack you. You have been attacking us for more than two centuries, and your campaign continues. He said to them simply: Withdraw your soldiers from the Arabian Peninsula, withdraw from Afghanistan and Palestine. …"
****ing ***hole.
I don't know about you, but I see a muslim acting like a muslim.
If that's how the average muslim acts, that's truly sad.

:banghead:
I give up, if you're going to stare glaring proof in the face and deny it, then blatantly lump all muslims together as terrorists theres nothing more I can do. If I'm honest I expected more of you guys... One Al-Jezeera quote in the face of me posting a tirade of evidence over the last 3 or 4 days and we're back at square one. I think its less what you think is true, and more what you want to believe.
Muslims claim they have been attacked from the first day Mohamm took a pee. If you talk to Muslims they will say that everything Mohammed did was in self defence. They never take responsibility for their actions and think they are always being attacked from the very first hours of their religion.
