Stop the presses, Creative is actually innovating?

What's next, regular driver updates?

Wow, what a worthless press release. "It has been found conclusively that testing causes cancer in labrats."

17% of what? 1000fps at 640x480?

Anyway, Creative still doesn't do Dolby Digital Live. No reason for me to make a change.

does it even do hardware mp3 playback? my sound card does and the auditgy 4 pro does but it's not worth the price.

Oh competition for Creative Labs, where for art thou?

I'm all for accelerated audio processing, but not from this useless company. (Past owner of 2 sound cards and 1 web cam from said company.)

Perhaps they might even evolve to drivers that WORK.

Hell, I'd actually settle for a support dept that does something highly innovative and rather inventive such as actually listen to their customer when someone says they're having a problem, be it the card or the driver :D Speaking of which, I wonder how ol Harvey is doing...

No need to do that if your product hasn't changed in 5 years :p

any word on the interface they'll be using? maybe someone will start using those lowly pci-x 1x slots

i haven't heard of any things being used for the crappy pci-x slots other than graphics @ 16x. maybe the interconnect below 16x should be scrapped and leave the regular pci slots there

just my .02

The AGEIA physics card will use a PCIe 4x slot.

jw jAKUp, nice to see a benefit to the other pci-x slots. while talking to the guy @ E3, did he say anything about possible launch times or eta on the cards?

I asked, I think he said before Christmas...

They will also release a PCI version though. They only other PCIe card I saw was a gigabit lan card...

FWIW, PCI-X is not the same thing as PCI-E. PCI-X is used on many server-class motherboards, and fits your standard PCI connector.

Most expansion cards just don't use enough bandwidth to require anything more than straight up PCI, so it would be wasteful to put them on PCI-E.

I would take this 17% figure with a very small grain of salt.

The AGEIA physics card will use a PCIe 4x slot.

How many motherboards actually have one of those?

So this will be PCI when it comes out?

I really need one of these, my sound card isn't the "best"
