My understanding is that they should work for people with Geforce 6 hardware. But slowly.

i don't even think you could call what i had in that mad mod mike demo fps. ran it @ 1280x1024 and it was just a series of pictures for me.

the other demo however ran well. but it only runs at 1024x768 it seems.

Demo ran at solid 30FPS for me, mainly due to Vsync I think... So yeah... this better not be a demo for the mighty 7800GTX because my 6800GT ran it perfectly.

EDIT: Im talking of the Luna Demo, I don't want to see a fat hairy man on my PC...

Yeah ran quite well on my GT too, no fps counter on but I would say 25-35 range.

Anyway....

Hot hell... The video was great but this... best tech demo EVER!

which tech demo are you two talking about and at what res?

edit - k, i figured out what was the problem. i have dual view and multi-monitor option was set to multi-display performance, i set it to single display performance and performance is better in the mike demo.

Hmm some of you people with 6800GTS are claiming better performance than my 7800GTX does as a single card.. And better performance than I am reading on the futuremark forums. Steady 30 FPS? Even when she is elevated?

I was talking of the Luna Demo at 1024x768 Res, I saw no way to change the resolution. Yup... I will get the Demo again later and get some grabs of it, already uninstalled it though (I don't care for Benchmarks/Demos)... and I gotta head to work soon.

Maybe later today...

yea, i don't buy the 30fps either. when i set dual view multi-monitor option to single display peformance i got better performance in the mike demo but no way in hell was it anywhere near 30fps. instead of a series of pictures i now got about 9-15fps(what i'm guessing it was as i didn't run a fps counter) @1280x1024.

Well I got no fraps or anything to take a good look on fps, but it ran quite fine. Slight stutter when there was most effects on screen, noticeable but nothing bad. I'd say it never went under 20.

It could be setup difference too though, I run far cry 1600 res 16xAf and HDR on quite well although ppl say it run too low fps on those settings. (though it's 64bit build, dunno then how much it has effect)

Going from Dual View to Single made a world of difference in both demos for me.
runs pretty good now.. think most of NVs demos runs slow in Dual View.

I don't know what rez it was running at, i just installed the demo and ran it with Fraps running. Highest FPS are at the beginning of the demo at around 35 FPS and drop as low as 13 FPS in places. My monitors rez is 1280x1024 but i couldn't find anywhere to change the rez of the demo :)

To change the res for the Luna demo. Got to the instal directory of the demo. In the case of myself, i went to;

D:\Program Files\NVidia Corporation\NVidia Demos\Luna\bin

Now look for a file called args.txt. First before you open it, right click on it and click on properties. Then uncheck Read-Only in the Atributes section. Apply and click OK. Now open the file and scroll down to the section highlighted below. Notice the //. This is where you can set the resolution. I have mine set at 1280x960 which is highlighted in Bold. It means the width will be 1280 and height will be my desktop height which is 960. To use a particular resolution add the // to the default one in Luna which is highlighted in Green and delete the // for your desired res. Say you want to use a res of 1280 720. You would delete the // as highlighted in blue. A word of note. If you delete the //, the make sure you space it back to the original allignment.
