I enjoyed my 6800 ultra for about two months... and just last week, for only $100, I was able to use EVGA's step-up program to get a new 7800GTX. It arrived yesterday and looks beautiful!!!
Now, just hoping monarch ships my x2 4400+ tonight so I can have it in my grubby hands by tomorrow....
This weekend is gonna be fun :p

I thought all there 7800 cards were backordered? I have the 6800gt pci-x and was thinking of upgrading, what do you think?
DO IT! Do the step-up program... and this point I cant do it because im stuck on an AGP system... unless if they magically release one for agp in the next 82 days lol.

I agree! For probably $200 bones you could have a 7800 GTX... you might as well go for it. If you think about it, it will extend the life of your graphics, so in the future you could wait a little longer to upgrade than if you stuck with the 6800gt...
PLUS, IT'S NEW HARDWARE!!! WOOT!

Agreed. the Evga program kicks ass, I'm hoping if they release an Ultra they'll do it in 90 days :P
Is it 60 days? I may do it to an Ultra :)
I wonder if they'll have a step-up for the 7800GT?

It's 90 days jakup!!! That would be sweet for you to only pay $100-$200 and get the best sli again! (bstrd!!)
Although I think they restrict it to one card.. plus you need original box paperwork and invoice.... go to the evga forums, they are pretty helpful.

What's involved in the tradeup? Do you send it straight to EVGA? RMA number plus copy of invoice?
When you think about it...they gotta come out with at least a refresh within 3 months....Going with EVGA really is a no brainer...
This program sounds pretty cool. How long did you have to wait for it to come? I don't have an Evga but would like to know anyway in case I decide to buy from them in the future.

It didn't take too long for me to get the 7800.... I submitted my step-up request on june 23 (when the cards were released).
Got accepted to the program on July 1. Sent my card in on July 5. They received the card the 7th, and shipped my new card on the 11th... got in on the 13th!!!
It really is a cool program, and evga does have awesome customer support!!
