freeware ghost software?

Windows XP's system restore must be running in the background and consuming resources to run so I need another program that will save all the data (1.8Gb) but not the entire 30Gb partition. I will save the 1.8Gb of data on my 2nd 10Gb partition and when my hard disk gets clogged with crap I can easily just reload the image and my hard drive will be in a just "formatted and installed" state. :)
