not as long as you think... valve created that entire faceposer thing in their source sdk package. the lips move automatically when sound is applied. you just have to edit gestures, etc..

lipsyncing is easy as pie in source heh. its literally built around someones phd thesis. any character can auto lipsync to a wav or mp3 in source. that and sources facial animation structure system is the most advanced thing since the toaster was invented. =o

Yep, quicktime is one horrible piece of crappy software.. That's why I use Windows Media Player Classic to play *.mov movies, and you could do the same ;)
