View Full Version : EVGA 6800 Copper heat sink work on PNY?

Will the EVGA 6800 copper heat sink work on a PNY 6800GT? They both look like they use NVIDIA's reference design. I'm not really interested in O/C my card but it will do 400/1100 with no problem if I could get the heat down a little. But hot days like today (104) the standard cooler doesn't do the job at stock speeds after an hour or so of use even with a large fan blowing at it.

If the pny card has the reference nvidia cooler on it then it should work fine.

I just sold a PNY 6800 Ultra that had the eVGA copper heatsink on it with AS5 applied. I flashed it to the ultra extrem bios and it ran 450/1200 with no increase in voltage. Temps were 47c idle and up to 58c load so it helped a lot to put on that heatsink.

Good, I thought it would work from what I read about it. So, looks like that my next upgrade.
