I used Coolbits to unlock the Frequency Changer and I got the clock speeds on my GT to 380/1.1 on STOCK (eVGA 6800 GT). I ran 3dmark/Aquamark/Nvidia Demos and played Battlefield 2/Americas Army and so on.

How do you exactly know when you hit the limit of your card?

Right now its idling at

57C Core

and

38c Ambient

My room is about 68 degrees. I can never get out of game fast enough to catch the peak temp it reaches.by the time I get there its at 66.

Any help will be appreciated.

If your machine hardlocks, your core is set too high. If you see artifacts (you'll know when you see them) the memory is too high. Run tests by increasing/decreasing the clock frequencies in intervals of 5 MHz.

ok cool it hardlocked at 402 mhz core... I dropped it to 380, maybe I should try 390 and call it a day.

As long as its getting cool temps I shouldn't have to worry about frying? correct?

Yep, and it has to get pretty damn hot to fry itself. Sounds like your temps are fine.

For good temp monitoring download RivaTuner. When you exit the game you can look on the graph to see what it maxed at.
