In BF2 if I have Transparency AA set to super sampling there are fences that disappear. See pics below:

Anyone else getting this or is it just me?

Card is a Gigabyte 7800GTX. Stock speeds.

I'm getting the same issue with ssaa enabled. I just set it to multisamping and all is well.

Yeah SuperSampling is a bit buggy not only in BF2(missing fences) but HalfLife 2(lightning issue) and FarCry (missing fences err under your feet in that tanker level).

Works greating in racing sims (lots of fences), but I don't use it in BF2.

Add DOOM3 to the bug list for SSAA as well = big black blocky flashing shadows in some areas. :thumbdwn:

Seriously though, TAA bugs need to be listed in a sticky. I've seen the Battlefield 2 one mentioned in just about every geforce 7 review\preview I've read.

That happens to me too. SS transparency AA is totally screwed at the moment, we're gonna have to wait for better drivers. :)

Yep, its a know issue with several games. Is it nVidia's fault or the dev's fault, I don't know :p

Nvidia's of course. The devs didnt have TSAA available during development to ensure compatibility. But it looks like Nvidia didn't thoroughly test their new killer mode.

Haha, sounds like a really good marketing PR spin. "Removes all graphic anomalies from the game! It simply displays a black screen, so you won't be able to see ANYTHING wrong with the image!". Though really, not being able to see the fences would make it easier to see and shoot people on the other side of it. Of course, you'd constantly be running into the invisible fences and not be able to see the openings in them either, so it's not really that advantagous ;)

Anyway though, from the sound of it SuperSample Transparency AA has quite a few issues and in general it's better to use multisampling right now. Future drivers will fix the SSAA eventually, but at least for now falling back to multisample AA is a good compromise (and still looks a hell of a lot better than no transperency AA, and even Supersample transparency AA in many cases).

Actually this Bug probably helps you out more than you think because it is easier to see enemies through multiple layers of fences.
