I'm moving on to either D&DO, Dark and Light, or Hero's Journey first chance I get. WoW is simply there to kill the time until then.

DnL has the best gameplay concepts of the 3 games I mentioned. Unfortunetly, it is a gorgous and ass-looking game all in one. Some screenshots are breath-taking, other's make you reach for a doggie bag. I won't sign on until the grahpics stabilize and become consistantly awesome.

D&DO is the game I'm the least and most interested in. Least becuase it looks like a mindless hack'n'slash that caters to the lowest common denominator [ie WoW kiddies]. Most because it's got the best chance of being released this year and I need to get the hell off Wow. :P

Also becuase it's 3.5E it's probabley going to have the best character customization options.

Hero's Journey is easily the prettiest MMORPG I've ever seen. Absolutely and consistantly gorgous [unlike DnL]. It also seems to have some great gameplay concepts [better than DDO, not as good as DnL]. My only gripe with the game is that it's being made by a company who while has alot of MUD/PnP experience as no real MMORPG/3D Graphics experience. Also it seems alot of the dev team is either volunteer or temporary based. In other words the company is the least professional of the 3 games mentioned here and that puts me on edge.

Nice ! Hero's Journey sure looks sweet got to keep my eye out for this one. I ain't really into DnD based games mainly because I don't like the stance WoTC takes on video games and what content can be included...ie only cookie cutter evil NPC's and severe limitations on roleplaying elements that can be included. DaL looks okay though I am the type of guy that still plays Fallout 1 and 2 for the great gameplay elements. So if it has a super great gameplay system I could live with the butt ugly graphics. Thanks for the links.

Ninjaman my name is Manius. I'm lvl 10 now. I need a guild. If your guild needs a good low lvl tank, do ya think you could get me a invite to your guild?
My guild is kind of a hardcore raiding guild (though they call themselves "casual"). I'll ask but you might have to apply, even if I put in a good word.

BTW my mage's name is Sorom, I'll add you to my friends list as well.

Well on the maturity issue, I have found that horde is slightly more mature and less often played as well so you have less of a chance of running into iceholes.

Although that may be true, there is a down side. The little bastards are against you on the alliance side and at lvl 60 they love to gank 20's.

Just an example, I quit the headach of my 60 dwarf priest and started a undead mage(lvl 30, so much more fun). I'm in Splintertree yesterday, of coarse I land, get about 10 yards from the flight pad and boom, one shot death.. He vanishes, wham, kills some one that lands, vanish. Over and over and over. This di-ck must have been there for at least an hour doing that.

But yeah, the kiddies of wow diffently had a negative impact on a good game. It's to bad.

WotC is taking a much more hands off approach with DDO. The setting of Eberron was specifically chosen over Forgotten Realms/Dragonlance becuase it's been around for about a year and as such the developers have alot more freedom with it.
