I got the file is unavailable finally but refreshing the page a few times brought it back up.
Maybe the server is starting to get swamped.

Looks like MicroShaft pulled the download. As the DX Web Setup doesn't work now.

Sure it does, on my R300. ;) :p :D

Seriously: Don't know, I play all games with vsync and I have yet to see any games rame rate drops below my refreshrate.

It messed up WMP and DviX player for me, 3D Mark and games still the same no improvement.(GF-4 Ti-4200) Did SYS Restore to go back, can be with out DviX or WMP. I also had to patch 3D Mark to get it to work, so if it doesnt run after you install DX9 go get the patch and it will.

They have now posted the DX9 download at www.microsoft.com/directx and have not only the web setup program but the 31.2MB redist version as well!

This is making me mad. No matter what I do the thing will not intiate the DX9 download. It always says the download faield to start.

You can download DirectX 9.0 SDK like i did , when installing you can chose what to install only Runtime or all the other stuff from SDK also :rolleyes:

Download the Redistriputable like I did. It's only 32 mb.


DX9 works great for me. No problems, and a good performance increase in most areas.

Though I think there are a couple of issues ATi needs to fix with the Catalyst 3 (such as when you close something in the system tray the screen flickers).

im pretty sure direct x 9 took my fps down in ut2k3 :( ohh well
