View Full Version : Time for a new Pen Drive.. again.
Since my Sandisk Cruzer Titanium suddenly died about a few months ago, I have been forced to use the 256mb drive that the nice AGEIA guys gave me at e3... now I love AGEIA, and the pen drive is awesome, but I need more space :)
Saw this reviewed in the latest issue of MaximumPC... Got a good rating, but I'm sometimes a little leery because they usually don't review based on speed. and $143 for 2GB's??! Wow... anyways, I will give it a shot, I just hope its not slow. lol Even has a retracktable connector :)

In the same $150 price range I've seen 4 gig microdrive-based thingamajigs (can't really call them _pen_ drives, since they're square). The thought of running a VMware virtual machine off one of the microdrive models--as a replacement for a laptop--really tempted me away from spending on a slower flash drive.
Then I saw $149 for refurbished 4 Gig iPod Mini. I could not resist. I can carry a 2G virtual machine and 2G of music and leave the ThinkPad at home. Check out http://www.apple.com/store > click the Special Deals red tag in the lower right.

get the PQI I-Stick 1GB, this thing is so fast, and tiney. I can run games off it no problem, and it is indestructable... Been through the wash, and still works.

I absolutely LOVE my 1GB I-Stick. Removing it from the housing and being able to easily store it in your wallet is really nice.

Looks like the price is now $179?

Yeah, but apparently prices fluctuate. Or maybe the $179 models are the new iPod Minis with the longer-lasting battery; I got an original model for $149.
