I have bought the Nvidia PureVideo Decoder software, is that the same as Nvidia dvd decoder?

Do i need both?

the nvidia dvd decoder is now the purevideo decoder. it was renamed when the 7800 gtx was launched. all newer versions will be called the purevideo decoder. you only need to install the new version and you're set to go. You might want to try setting it to vMR and pixel adaptive also in the options for best quality.

Also you can launch the hidden nStantMedia app by browsing to C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\ForceWare\nStant Media and clicking on the exe. I am trying it for the first time right now and it seems pretty sweet.

yeah, but you have no digital vibrance control and can only play audio in stereo mode. It's nice though...
