View Full Version : Wow, Linksys tech support sucks

After calling them with 2 problems, both of which are somewhat major (card doesn't work till 5 minutes after bootup, and it's definitely a driver problem, but I'm not gonna go into that here :p), being on hold for 10 minutes on two different occasions, and talking to someone with an accent so thick that it makes Apu sound like Sydney Poitier, it makes me angry. Then, of course, I got no answers whatsoever (the card needs to warm up? Yeah, let's forget about the fact that it used to work fine and now, IT DON'T). Blagh. Sorry, just needed to vent. It's about 35 minutes of my life wasted.... argh.

I wonder.... what would PsychoSy do in this situation? :D

yep, i called linksys for my router last year and they just talked me through what I had already done. Basically, tech support for most companys sucks, so I just figure eveything else out myself. Actually, the people on this board are far more helpful than any company's tech supprt. Just my 2 cents.:D

I go to forums for help as well before ever going to a mfr for help..long hold times, "did you reboot?" things...blah blah

The best experience I had was with MS hardware, my mouse was replaced within 2 days, oh, and Maxtor is top notch for replacing things as well...but for general help, everyone sux...

Oh, believe me, I doubted they could have helped, and I doubted the forums could've helped either (the problem was that weird). That's the only reason I didn't post here--you guys all rock, but there's that list of known issues that companies have that you guys don't, so.... :p

if you really want to have some fun call up abit when your drunk and try and figure out what they are saying, it is almost as much fun as watching the spanish channel!!!

Well...after I'd given the rep on the other end a decent hearing test through his little SOCOM headset, I went out and bought a motherboard with onboard LAN (ECS K7S5A).

As for the LinkSys card, a typical .22 rifle and the word "PULL!!" dealt with that SOB in a big hurry. :) Obviously, you can tell I've had to deal with LinkSys tech support once before...the key word here being "once". :D
