NvTweak has superseded all other Coolbits, ie it evolved into NvTweak.
Follow link above for latest version.

Does nvtweak have anything an everyday user would want? All I really use coolbits for is overclocking.

I'm not so sure NVtweak has completely superseeded Coolbit2. I may get the details wrong on this, but here the gist of it should be sufficient.
Using NVtweak with SLI, the options in the advanced settings to chose SFR, AFR, AFR2, Auto, Single, etc is not there. It just gives you Single or Multiple gpu choices. Using Coolbits2, the complete set of options are available. For several months, I just could never figure out how people were getting these options. I used NVtweak, but they never showed up. Last week, I used Coolbits2 and what do you know, they were all there.
So, in my experience (it may differ from others, who knows), Coolbits2 is better for SLI users, if only just for the situation I experienced.

Isn't the latest NVTweak = CoolBits 2.0 just with graphical GUI?

Actually NvTweak = Coolbits 3D. It has more options than Coolbits 2.0.

jAkUp can you confirm the issue with NVTweak and SLI? I don't recall anyone mentioning this before.

Man it really stinks that I lost the source code for this app in a hard drive failure. It sucks not being able to update it... :(

Thanks for the replies. Rewt should know.

I am curious about the SLI issues - since that would affect me.

I prefer coolbits & i have no problem getting the SLI options after using it ..

Check if coolbits dword value = 0,1,2,3, or ffffffff. There are many possibilities for this value and each will give different options. Which one enables the SLI options I'm not exactly sure :-/

Never tried NVTweak till this thread - I like it much better. Always felt performance was not the same after running coolbits - all I use are the refresh overrides anyways.

NVTweak RUL3Z!

I can't seem coolbits to even work...I double click the registry file and nothing shows up in my display properties.

Try installing the reg file as admin.

Ok I just found out XP 64 has 2 different versions of regedit.

http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/regedit_s0.mspx

Now its just a matter of importing coolbits into the right one.

Installing Coolbits will not decrease performance unless you changed something to do so.

I am running XP 64 and simply merged it into the reg. Shouldn't be any problems.

REGEDIT4

That's what my registry file reads out as.

Shouldn't make any difference, but try replacing "REGEDIT4" with "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00". If it still does nothing, then wipe your system clean of any Forceware files/reg entries and try again.
