Has anyone purchased the above card lately? According to the photos, XFX is now using a shorter 6800 (standard) PCB with fewer power components. Are the photos correct? Any overclocking issues?

Huh, never seen a pcb layout like that. :wtf:

I bet its using the new 110nm NV48. There is a good chance it could overclock even better than a normal GT, but don't hold me to that.

Hmm. I disagree. The PCB has been redesigned without the ability to populate dual power. To me, this means it's a redesign for use only with a 6800 GT/plain, and therefore not able to reach the speeds of a board also used with a 6800 Ultra.

Well mine is being replaced, and it seems the regular XFX 6800GT has been discontinued for quite some time. So mine maybe replaced with the new version. I'll let you guys know and see what its like.

Thanks for the replies. I thought NV48 was for PCI Express.

But do let us know, crainger. Thanks. :)
