Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs->ATI Control Panel

Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs->ATI Display Drivers

heh, I replaced my broken 8500 awhile back with a GeForce 2. It was funny seeing the nvidia and ati tabs side by side in the display properties ;)

Um, okay. Anyway, if I remember correctly, this actually does happen if you do not uninstall the control panel. Obviously the control panel doesn't work, but I think it still appears.

The thing that I thought was strange was that the nVidia control panel was nowhere to be seen.

Smartgart would not work if you have a non Ati card in your pc would it?
