Out of pure fun I decided to play some UT2K4 today, so with the new GTX I decided to crank up the settings. So I played it on the most demanding UT2K4 map I think( DM-Junkyard ) at 1280x1024 8xS 8xAF Transparence SuperSampling & Gamma AA On, and it was playable in Junkyard the average FPS was from 80 - 90, while in DM-Ranking it was around 130!

Here is a BMP shot:

A 7800GTX can even do Icetomb at 1600x1200 with 8xAA just fine.

Wow, before I played CS:S at 1280x1024 4xaa 16xaf Everything on like in above post, but now I tried it with 8xS smooth as silk! I also get 96 FPS in the VST, and 160 with 4xaa.

With my GTX's in SLI I get 117fps in the VST @ 1280x1024, 16x SLI AA, 8X AF with Transparent Super Sample AA.

plus Unreal is probably coded very well, as it looks nice on almost any system and can run reasonably well even on low end systems.

They do a nice job as opposed to -cough-Battlefield2--cough-cough

Don't get me wrong, I love bf2, but for the resources it uses, it's just not that pretty...

Far Cry-Sweet Looking Game though!!

I think i may have gotten off topic so ill stop now.

Like what Chris said .. the Icetomb map is where the real challenge is ;)
though i'm sure it'll be a walk in the park for the GTX.
i'm playing HL2 now @1600x1200,8xSSAA with TP & GCAA,16xAF & yet its smooth & very playable.

Ugh that BMP is huge, just save it as 12 quality in photoshop and you get virtually no quality loss (and I dont mean joe average virtually but pixel for pixel comparisons).

Yes, the 7800GTX owns. I couldn't believe how good Icetomb ran after installing. :D

Just tried Icetomb, amazing, smooth as silk as well, just never played it before doesn't seem to be rotated much on servers.

That's becuase IceTomb brings most systems to their knees, dipping down below 30fps for some folks. You should benchmark with that map, it'll be an even better test of the awesome power that is your A64 2.7ghz & GF7GTX
