Yeah I am download 32bit version now on newsgroup, 7 hours to go, all of you probably dont realised the size of Windows Vista is not around 550Mb, actually it the whooping 2.7Gb. If you download it from torrent, it will take you around a week to get it. :p

Yea and it works with XP drivers. I willt try it on my main rig at home after work.

"From a review"

"Performance
Surprisingly, Windows Vista Beta 1 is a speedy performer. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see statistics showing that it's already faster than XP on the same hardware. This is somewhat confusing to me, since early betas are generally not tuned for performance. Plus, Vista has an incredibly dense UI compared to UI. I'll be interested to see whether this changes over time."

Yeah and also Vista drivers too, Vista drivers offer enhanced features and performances XP drivers cant offer. Now ATI released first Vista Catalyst drivers today (http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=24976), let hope Nvidia turn to release Vista drivers today.

The list of supported NVIDIA products is quite small relative to ATI as can be seen in this document (http://home.comcast.net/~butterfry/Display_Drivers_with_LDDM_Support.htm). There are no included LDDM drivers for any of the GeForce 6 and 7 series products in Beta 1.

Does anybody know if NVIDIA plans to release LDDM drivers supporting the Beta 1 release of Windows Vista?

Nice. But WTF were they thinking in IE7 putting the tabs above the menus like that? I hope you can change that. Yuck.

It's this simple everyone:

1) Go to update driver for your NV4x
2) Install the LDDM driver version of Nvidia 5950 Ultra
3) Reboot
4) Welcome to DWM

^^ DWM is Desktop Windows Manager AKA Aero Glass and other fancy effects.

Currently this BETA only has LDDM drivers for NVIDIA cards upto a 5950. I have asked for something for the NV4x series via NVD, I doubt ill get anything though. Too early.

FWIW, the nVidia driver appears to be showing that it only supports DirectX 8.1 (under XP of course it supports DX 9.0)

DxDiag also fails the DX 9 tests.
