I had my 160GB Hitachi sitting on my desk for the past week.
My little neice decided it'd be fun to "play" with it today, and she screwed up the PCB on the back of the hard drive. You know where the molex connects to it, and the 40 pin IDE connects to it. Well a couple of pins are missing from where the IDE cable connects to the HD.
I was wondering if the drive is now scrap, or if I can get a replacement controller card for the hard drive to make it work again.
The model no. for the hard drive is HDS722516VLAT20
and the part no. is 08K0464.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

If the pins have been damaged and you have no warrenty your pratically S.O.L.

Had you tried the plug the drive in and see if it works at all?

Yeah the Bios will not even detect the drive. Warrenty is unfortunately up already.
There is no where I can get a replacement controller for the HD?
I contacted Hitachi, and will receive a response in 2 business days.
