I am trying to run BF2 at 2048 x 1536 (which it does fine with NO AA turned on) HOWEVER when I turn on 2 x AA and the game loads, I get a garbled picture and have to ALT TAB out because I cant see the game screen.

Any ideas?

I have tried running my desktop at the same res and still get the same problem.

8 X SLI AA works fine but too slow fps, just dosnt work with 2 x aa

I am using the 77:76's.

Are forcing through CP? It is known that BF2 doesn't like forced AAxAF.
Seriously, I've done some major research, and I found out that the BF2 works best with Application Controlled AA. When I force AA, I get freezes, unreadable textures, bad performance and the IQ isn't too great too.

Also, AF kills my BF2 performance more than anything else. When I put 2xAF instead 2xAF, my fps drops from 80 to 30 easily (!!!). So I just put it to 2xAF for the sake of IQ and the difference isn't too noticeable anyway thanks to the mediocre lighting works in BF2's engine.

So 4xAA, 2xAF, No Vsync and HQ is my sweetspot.
I would recommend 8xS for you setup...

I run BF2 @ that res much of the time and noticed the new SLI AA doesn't work with it. I believe it works with the 19xx res and 1600x1200 fine though.

It's great running 2x7800GTX in SLI paired with an FX-57@3GHz and running BF2 @ 2048x1536 with all options on high and getting 100fps ;)

Are you setting 2x through the driver or the game config?
