I'm thinking about buying one of these

But it has no fan. Do I really not need one?

i have one of these in my 3d App machine at work, and it has no fan. it works great. you may bot get crazy overclocks with it, but it will get the job done

keep in mind, the ones with no fan and no HSI bridge are MUCH slower than the ones with one

thats passive cooling holmes. Passive cooling = slow card.

lol Not always. There are passively cooled X800XL cards from gigabyte.

That 6200 has a 64 bit memory bus though. Its really gonna choke in any modern game. You would be much better off going with a 128bit 6200 or 6600. If you plan on gaming that is.

Mmmm.. I have a passively cooled 6800 - it may not overclock like a champ, but I don't OC, so I wouldn't know. And I've never had any problems with overheating or anything even close to it - highest temp I've ever seen is 71C

The difference isnt much.
The card that is in your question is good. what pupose are you buying it for. maybe we can recommend something else in the same value.

Most of the 6200's dont come with fan's, very few come wit fans. you dont need a fan for it unless you intend to overclock it.
