Hi there
I realise this may sound like a strange question but.....
I'm putting together a new system and was planning on using an ANTEC TX640B case.
I have read that those who plan on installing a 7800GTX will run into problems due to the length of the card interferring with the hard drives.
So, if that is true I will have to choose another case, hence my question.
Many thanks for yur help
cheers

Coolermaster Stacker, heaps of room also can fit 2 PSU's and cards run at 43c and 44c :D

Ditto for the Coolermaster Stacker.

I took to my Stacker with a jigsaw and dremmel and cut out a nice side panel window and had a window custom cut for a flush fit. Into the window I have installed an 80mm fan which blows cool air directly onto the 2 x 7800GTX's that reside within.

I also have another 80mm RED LED fan fitted into the base of the case which blows air upwards onto the cards.

U2-UFO with 7x120mm fans. Temps are the same as for everyone else with good airflow: 45C idle 65C load with BFG 7800 OC SLI @ stock.

Thermaltake Shark works nicely.

Coolermaster Wavemaster, okay for airflow but I wouldn't recommend it unless chic eye candy is at the top of your requirements. 46 load / 65 idle / 24 room

ANTEC superlanboy.
indeed, the HD bay is in front of the PCIe buses.
it is hard to plug the 6 pin connectors, but once in place it fits ok (nothing bended)

Lian-Li V1200, tons of room. I am running SLI with 2 7800GTX's in it.

Lian Li PC-65.

It's really too small though. I'm looking for something with more room inside and better air flow.

Cooler Master Wave Master with window panel. This case is true quality. Running XP 4400X2 at 2.4 (4800+) on stock cooling, 2x1GB Matched Corsair w/LED, and a XFX 7800GTX OC version. I tell ya if you havent seen the GTX running games on an ACD 30" at native res, you havent seen the way it was meant to be played!

For a mid size tower the Lain Li PC_V1200 is a great choise, looks good, holds 6 hdds, very well built.

But if you need more space, the Lain Li PC V2000 holds 12 hdd's and is huge, looks silimar, just bigger :)

I'm planning to get myself a Xaser III (currently I have a nice but cramped Enermax mid-tower). What do you think of the case? I know it doesn't have a mobo tray, but that's not that big a deal for me, I don't upgrade often.

I upgrade all the time and my case is the perfect size. There is lots of room for everything! It has lots of fans for excellent ventilation. I highly recommend it!

I like the quality of the Lian Li cases, but do not want one that mounts the mobo upside down. My Asus A8N-SLI Premium has a heat pipe on the chip set. My friend with the same mobo has a Lian Li (something) that mounts the mobo upside down and that heat pipe gets insanely hot. So much so he is changing cases.

So what's a nice roomy Lian Li case that still mounts the mobo right-side up?

Hi guys
Many thks for all yur replies. Certainly has given me lots of research to do.

Rayman1968.....yur comments re the ASUS board have made me re-think an initial thought I had on the Lian-Li PC-60 Plus.
I wud be interested to know what case wud force yu to mount yur motherboard upside down....unless yu mean that the PCI slots on the case are placed such that yu have to invert the motherboard i.e. PCI slots wud be at the top on the case ??

Talking of the Lian-Li PC-60 Plus....anybody have opinions on the case ??

cheers
