I only played real quick. I started benching (with fraps) as soon as i get out of the car and take control of my guy.

Only lasted 21490 frames till i died. 1280x960-the rest was default (it auto detected everything on HIGH cpu/gpu)

FPS average: 90.506 (Sweet!!!)
Min:21 ( i cant say i noticed when this happened)
Max:264

Game looks awesome: Shadows are killer/ effects are sweet!!!

p4 3.4 oc'd to 4.0
2 gig ram
gtx7800(I just realized i forgot to OC for this!!! 460/1300 i usually OC to 484/1340)

how are you guys doing with this?

half of the time i get 80+ fps. rest of the time it's in the 30s ://

worst of all is the horrible thrashing and swapping im getting :( peace,

Scratch that. After playing some more "busy" parts my frames average are around 76, low was 46(again, I didnt even notice)

Same settings. Everything juiced but no AA. The game looks so good it doesn't really need it. Oh yeah, soft shadows off...

Still haven't even oc'd the card anymore.

Is there a way to check your fps in-game?

I use Fraps, but maybe it's just the 77.77 drivers but whenever I enable any kind of AA, the game runs at 0 FPS. Other then that at 1280x960 0xaa 16xaf Everything on high with soft shadows off, it's smooth as silk!

In a word, not brilliantly. Average FPS I'd say around the 40 mark. Although I'm playing @ 1024x768, 2xAA, 16xAF, everything maxed out, Vsync ON. I don't like image tearing, that's why I always play with it on if the in-game settings allow (although it variies from game to game, some engines suffer from it more badly than others it seems). In Forceware control panel I've disabled TAA and GAA btw, global performance set to High Quality. I'm running @ stock speeds.

I'm just thinking out aloud here, but I know I'm going to have to do some tweaking to get the demo to run more smoothly methinks...

If the retail version runs this badly @ the highest settings, then that'll be my perfect exuse to invest in a second 7800 GTX :D

I am kinda scared to install it if ur getting this with a 7800GTX... but I am wondering... are u using softshadows?

I ran the fraps benchmark through the whole game and averaged 91fps, min 0, max 329. This was at 1600x1200 4xAA/8xAF with all game settings maxed including soft-shadows on. BUT, there are still some questions about the AA and soft-shadow settings actually sticking.

Edit: When playing with just fraps monitoring the framerate, I think the lowest framerate I saw was 33 fps. Again though, I'm still not sure the AA setting is actually working.

Around 15-20 FPS at 1280x960 on my Dual Xeon 3.2 / 6800 GT. Not a very stellar performer.

I ran mine with most settings on max, I turned off soft shadows (how much better can shadows look?) ad volmetric lighting on medium, 4xaa and 8xaf, 1080x768, the game ran smooth, a few hangups but only seamed to happen during autosaves, I havnt checked the fps yet, however, in a single player game, as long as it runs smooth, I really don't care. As far as this game goes, its ****in awesome, it blows Doom 3 out of the water when it comes to horror, I suggest you play it at night with all the lights turned off. I was scepticle about the whole bullet time thing but they seamed to implement it well and its pretty cool to blow a guys head off in slow mo and be able to kick it around after. This game is definatly gonna be a hit. But Why the October release date, I want it NOW NOW NOW NOW!!!

Yes. I get a stutter during the AutoSaves also. And YES!!! It seems like it's going to be much better than Doom3.

Looks incredible!!!!

I'm pretty sure all the results I've been giving are wrong. I suspected an AA issue and now others have confirmed that as well as a soft-shadow issue. The settings don't seem to stick so I have to reselect them each time even though it says they're already set in the menu. After doing that, I'm sure my results are wrong. Here is a comparison. At 1600x1200 4xAA/8xAF and soft-shadows on I get 49fps in the first screenshot. In the 2nd, those options still show as being set but I didn't reselect/set them. At 1600x1200 4xAA/8xAF and soft-shadows on I get 148fps but it's clear AA and soft-shadows are off.

I really like it and it's very creepy but I didn't think it was very scary. I think D3 is better in that regard but it's probably unfair to judge Fear on just this short demo.

running it on a 6600gt, 16-32 fps. Playable

The game runs suprisingly good for me. At least a lot better than how the beta ran... but that's expected. I do have a complaint though, the game still has bugs, my game froze twice for me (not the whole computer) and my friend had his game freeze aswell. Plus the ragdoll seems to sometimes make the game crash, especially when u nail someone to a wall in an awkward position.

As far as FEAR being better than D3, I think it's possible. One thing that fear delivers is that it mixes up the first person shooting part with slow-mo, melee attacks and other stuff. D3 was just monsters popping out with good graphics. BTW, 7 year old girls are scarier than a demon throwing fireballs at you.

Runs smooth for me at 1024 x 768 with everything maxed. I've tried AFR and SFR and it seems SFR runs the game better. No hiccups at all- but I do have 2g of memory. I guess I'll be keeping my dual 6800 GT's a lot longer than I think- unless I really get bit by the bug on Aug 11th.

So any official benchmarks for the SP demo yet ??
i'm interested to see how the video cards from both vendors stack up in this game esp when i found out that my X800XT-PE which NEVER had a problem running any game before at high settings (including Doom3 & FarCry) is crawling like a baby in this game. heck even 1280x1024,noAA,8xAF isnt playable if all settings are running at max!

once again i'm very happy to pick 2 GTXs or i've would never enjoyed the SP demo as i did yesterday.
